Stewing in the worst thoughts of your current situation won’t improve the situation. It only continues to bring about negative emotions, negative energy, and negative actions. Your family and friends aren’t necessarily excited to watch, listen, burberry handbags, nor participate in the pity party. Now, turn the table around and welcome the birth of change. It’s a transformational shift from that which no longer serves you to that which launches you on your way to a better vibration and a pleasing desired state of mind, body, and soul.
The more you form the habit of directing your vibrational energy toward a positive, forward thinking state, the faster you’ll reach your desired destination. There are various schools of thought in the approach to live your dream.
1. Focus hard on the task at hand and put all your energies (time, money, etc.) toward the desired end state.
2. Visualize the desired state as if it was happening NOW and feel the positive emotions surrounding it.
3. Combining light actions while visualizing and living your desired state, all as if it’s already happening.
How can you achieve your desired state if you are deeply involved in your current state, which is causing you sleepless nights, headaches, heart burn, agitation, and unhappiness?
Regardless of which of the three options above appeals to you, one thing that is consistent is the need to let go of your past or current situation. It frees up some mental space to open up the possibilities of the future. This is often the most difficult aspect within a transition. So many hours, so much energy, and so much pride rests in activities associated with the current or previous state. At one time, it served you well. You focused your energies on it and you made it happen. With continued growth based on life experiences, you’ve identified a new desired state. You’ll take with you the learnings of your current and previous states to become a happier, more joyful person, on your path to the “new you.”
Keep the current or past that served you well light with appreciation. Recognize the value it brought to you and begin to move onto the next chapter in your life. Transitions are a process – it takes some time. Just dropping the activities isn’t enough. Because of all the attention you placed on that part of your life, you are still drawn to it, whether you want to admit it or not.
How can you release that which no longer serves you as to launch the birth of your new desired state? Try performing a closing ceremony. But, recognize it’s not a pity party. Just like the Olympic Games, a closing ceremony puts closure to an event as a celebration of all that was gained during the event. Many people who are going through a transition, like a divorce, don’t feel a sense of closure and choose a closing ceremony. The concept is not limited to individuals going through a divorce. A ceremony can heal your heart and bring forgiveness when transitioning through a new career, a new employer, a change in family membership, change in responsibility, change in income, etc. Even the loss of a family member typically involves a closing ceremony, a funeral or memorial service, as a celebration of their life and their transition on to their next life.
The ceremony doesn’t have to be a “woe is me” theme, especially if the transition is not of your choosing. You can still reflect on the fact that the transition is happening and “bring on” the new chapter in your life. You have the power to control your thoughts, your attitude, and your vibrational energy surrounding your events – past, present, and future.
Days are much brighter and happier when you choose a “bring it on” attitude compared to a “woe is me” approach.
