|
Dealing with disappointment is something we all have to do at some point along life’s journey. Unfortunately, life is full of unpleasantness, but if you can grasp some vital truths in dealing with disappointment, you can eaze your mind a great deal.
Always remember, it’s not so much what happens to you, but how you handle it. When your expectations become let down, it will be at that moment when you must decide how to react.
When things don’t prosper or succeed according to your plan, the first thing you feel is disappointment, and that’s normal. There’s nothing wrong with feeling disappointed. But, you must know what to do with that feeling or it will move into something more serious.
Don’t put off dealing with disappointment. Dealing with disappointment is not something the enemy wants you to do. He would rather you lie in a pit for as long as possible. This way he can cause the seed of discouragement to grow. From there, he will plant seeds for depression, and then seeds for the other dirty Ds. Here are the progressive dirty D’s in order:
* Disappointment
* Discouragement
* Depression
* Despondency
* Despair
Dealing with disappointment is vitally important! If left undealt with, it could potentially lead you through the other dirty Ds all the way to despair. It’s in despair where people have lost all hope and could decide to take their own life.
If you’re still upset from past dashed expectations and haven’t been dealing with disappointment, let me remind you,Burberry Scarfs, God knows right where you are. He loves you, and wants you to seek comfort in Him. Trust Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, for He makes all things work together for your good according to His purpose for your life (Proverbs 3:5, Romans 8:2.
Always remember, God’s love for you is real even when your circumstances are difficult. Just like on those dark, gloomy days when you cannot see the sunshine, it doesn’t mean the sun doesn’t exist. Just as those ugly days are temporary, so are your disappointments. Rejoice in the fact that this too shall pass! |
