TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals announced that the team has re-signed free agent safety Matt Ware to a one-year contract. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Ware (6-2, 215) rejoins the Cardinals after playing in 11 games (one start) with 27 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in 2009. Ware was placed on injured reserve on December 16 with a knee injury and missed the final three regular season games and both postseason contests. The seventh-year NFL veteran originally joined the Cardinals after being claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles on September 3,karen millen sale, 2006. He has played in 53 games (three starts) over the past four seasons for the Cardinals and has been a key special teams performer in addition to serving as a valuable backup on defense.

He entered the league as a third-round selection (89th overall) by the Eagles in the 2004 NFL Draft out of UCLA and spent his first two seasons in Philadelphia. For his career, Ware has appeared in 81 games (three starts) and collected 86 tackles (57 solos), three forced fumbles, one interception and one fumble recovery on defense and 68 special teams tackles.
