I have the absolute privilege of being a speaker and it is truly a privilege. It is also very rewarding to be able to help people. I want to share one of my topics with you. In my travels I come across numerous people who are having challenges in their relationships. Here is an excerpt from my series entitled, "Know the Heart of Your Spouse." I pray it encourages you.
Here is what you have to understand when it comes to a husband and wife, or a marriage, or a union, or a relationship, or an employer, or an employee. Whatever we sow into each other, is what we are going to reap out of each other. In other words, how many times a week are we sowing into our spouses? How many times a week are we calling our spouses and saying, “When God was building beauty, He spent the whole day with you.” How many times a week are you wives calling your husbands and saying,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], “You know, when God was building men of God, He blessed me with the best man alive.”? If this is what we are sowing into the hearts of each other, this is what we are going to reap out of each other.
Marriage is not a piece of paper and a ring on a finger. It is a spiritual union. It is two people equally yoked together, knowing the hearts of each other and orchestrated by God.
Your spouse can only work along side of you to the extent of the knowledge they have. Your visions should be linked together. You must do whatever it takes to help make your spouse’s visions come to pass. You cannot sit around and do nothing and expect something to happen and then complain about it when it doesn’t happen. Link up your visions together and move forward. If you don’t know what your spouse’s visions are, you must find out what they are and go by the leading of the Holy Spirit in the direction God tells you to go.
When your spouse comes home at night, you should be fellowshipping and communicating with him or her. You should be able to sit down and talk with your spouse no matter how long it takes. You should ask him, "What can I do for you?" You can turn three hours into the best three hours of your entire day.
Open up the windows of your spouses’ heart. Ask her, “Honey, what can I do to better my life with you and our children? What nuggets can you give me to do that?” It’s not about fighting. It’s not about bouncing words off of each other. You must understand what each other is saying. You must find out what is in the heart of your spouse. If you don’t, someone else will.
Remember, love always says, "What can I do for you?" Lust says, "What can you do for me?" and true love does whatever it takes to benefit the one loved.
