It’s funny how often I have tricked myself into thinking that I have a certain end result in mind but upon further examination,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I notice that I’m really committed to something else. For instance, in the past I’d tell myself that I wanted to create a certain amount of income a month. Yet, month after month I wouldn’t hit my target.
I’d keep plugging along with the same strategy for creating teleclasses and selling my products. I haven’t had a strategy for attracting my ideal coaching clients in a decade so I didn’t give that part of my business much attention. So why wasn’t I nailing my income goal?
The answer was simple. I was not committed to having the income I said I wanted. I was trying to hit my target but I didn’t spend my time focused on the outcome I desired. I spent most of my time worrying about what would happen if I didn’t meet the goal. I kept thinking about how I hated not having enough money to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it.
Does this sound familiar? I also knew that the strategies I was using in my business didn’t feel quite right but didn’t know what to change. Most people in my position would continue to look for the “right” strategy or actions to increase their income. That is no more of a commitment to the desired end result than I had. You’re still “trying” for a goal but nothing about you is committed, to winning.
Being committed to a desire is not about how passionate you are about the desire. I was very passionate about making more money. But I didn’t really believe that I could have more than enough money in my bank account. I was really committed to creating the same amount and struggling to even get what I had.
Finally I said, “THAT’S IT! It’s time for me to have more than enough money!” In an instant, I got committed to upleveling my income. I made that decision and I felt all my fear melt away. I didn’t know what I was going to do different at that moment, I just knew my perspective had changed. I was no longer trying, I was just going to have that money!
I was excited. I had a new bounce in my step. Within a month I had new strategies for my business and I didn’t have to hunt them down. They came to me easily. I also had a whole new set of people step up to support me in my income commitment that were not there prior to me making a decision that I was serious about making that money.
Do a quick check-in for yourself right now. What are your top three focuses right now? Are you committed or trying? Do you feel that you are “no kidding” going to win immediately or do you feel it’s a someday goal…that eventually you’ll have what you desire? On a scale of 1-10 how fully do you believe that you get to have exactly what you want when you want it?
Your answers will let you know if you’ve truly made a decision and commitment to have your desired outcome.
