Creating an affective blog can be an excellent way to drive traffic to your site and bring attention to your business. Blogs can create excitement, activity and rank high on Google rankings. The following are some key components to keep your visitors wanting to come back for more.
Develop a Theme for Your Blog
Decide what your overall theme will be in your blogs. Determine whether it will be a personal blog geared towards comments about raising your kids, business oriented that focuses on tips and feedback on your industry, or possibly your journey in developing and growing a work from home business. Whatever the theme, keep it consistent. This will develop a group of followers who they will feel compelled to continue to come back for related information.
When and How Often to Post
It is recommended that you develop a posting schedule and stick with it. You may choose daily, weekly or another set time; however, if you find you are just putting something out there without much substance, you might want to slow down your schedule so that you are putting out a valued read.
Remember Those Days in Grammar Class?
Well, your teacher was on your case for a reason. Nothing turns off a reader more than poor grammar. Use correct spelling, avoid run on sentences and typing errors. If you are not confident in your writing ability, it may be beneficial to have someone proofread it before posting.
Get People Involved
People will tend to be returning visitors if they feel they are a part of the community. Create a method that allows people to leave comments and offer advice or suggestions to your posts. One word of caution, requiring participants to register before leaving a comment will reduce the number of people who will participate. If you notice that you are getting inappropriate comments, you may want to moderate the comments before they are visible,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it is best to get the comments listed as quickly as possible to get the impact from the readers.
Everyone Wants to be a Winner
Having giveaways or contests is also a great way to drive traffic to your site, generate excitement and keep people coming back for more.
Make It an Easy Read by Getting to the Point.
If someone opens your blog and it is laid out with a bunch of long paragraphs, they may not spend the time to read what you have to say. Make the flow easy by incorporating bullet points, bold words, and short paragraphs so they can scan if desired but still walk away understanding your key points.
Condense your thoughts. People will not stay around reading a lot of information. So tighten it up and get your point across in the fewest words possible.
Capture Their Attention with the Title
Once you have the details put down, create an excellent title that will get readers to want to come to your site. The title will be what appears on search engines so pick the words in the title wisely.
Show Why You Are Unique
There are so many blogs out there. Stand out from the crowd and provide topics that cant be found on other blogs. Become the go-to person for guidance, advice, and trends.
Blogs can be an effective tool to draw traffic to your site and keep them coming back. By creating a great layout, topic and easy to read format will be the building blocks to having a successful blog. The best benefit is that it is a cost effective approach to advertising with just a little investment of your time.
