Are you interested in calming your mind and soul through meditation? Learning how to meditate will help you decompress from a stressful day and will even help you align your thoughts to your desires. Different cultures practice different styles of meditation for the past thousand years. Meditation varies with cultures and tradition, which is why it's not easy to pinpoint where and how it evolved. There are guided meditations, relaxation meditation techniques, meditations for visualization, meditation for meeting your spirit guides, and so many others that it is easy to get confused when you first get started.
The focal point of meditation is the present moment Our mind will occasionally wander out of the present moment and into a past or future thoughts. We will learn to focus on the present with continual practice.
So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if meditation is the act of bringing our attention back to the present, then where is our mind when it isn’t in the present? Here are four places does our mind wander when it's not in the present moment:
The past- any thoughts about the past.
The future- thoughts towards the future or worrying about the future
Judgments of others - focusing on the negative or positive qualities you perceive in others
Labeling Ourselves- putting a negative or positive label on ourselves based on our own actions
All four of these things distract us from what really is happening in the present moment. When learning how to meditate, you are trying to bring your mind back to the present.
Are you interested in learning how to meditate, follow these steps. For 5-10 minutes. a day, find yourself a quiet and peaceful place. Focus on nothing but your breath, with your eyes close. Are your breathing fast or slow, deep or shallow? When do you stop breathing out and start breathing in? Between each breath, how long is the pause?
It's only human if your mind wanders every now and then. Don’t beat yourself up over this (after all, that is just a judgment of yourself). Whenever you catch yourself thinking of anything other than the present, simply take your attention and place it back in the present moment. Do this for a few minutes, when you're done, slowly transition yourself out of the meditation. You will feel refreshed.
The moment you begin to learn meditation, you step on a trip to discover yourself. If you keep meditating, you will find who you really are as person and what really matters in your life.
