There is an old saying, “A rut is a grave with the ends knocked out.” Ever feel like your life or career has hit a rut and from there you can see no way out? Ask anyone today if they love their job and almost unanimously you will here…NO! How sad is that? Think of how great it would be to get up everyday and love to go to work. That is exactly how I feel and when people ask me, “When are you going to retire”, I say never!
Let’s look at this “47 Year Rut” I am talking about. Remember when you parents talked about, “Get a job, work hard your whole life, then you can retire.” This was a model that their parents drummed into their heads in the Industrial Age of America (1890-1959) and they were passing along what worked for them. They saw their parents do it and they did it. Nobody got rich doing it, but they lived a reasonably comfortable life. Things were different then and definitely are different now! Looking back, some would say they wish thing were the way they were and the 47 Year Rut would be better than the economic disaster we have before us.
Let’s look at the 47 year experience our parents lived and see what it really offered. If you started working as a young adult at let say 18 years old and retired at 65, there you can see the 47 years I am discussing. If you survived, you leave your lifetime career with what might have been a small pension from your employer and your portion of Social Security. Usually, these two revenue streams are about one-third what you were earning at your job.
Your working income is a Linear Income. This means you are paid when you work, if you work and only on your work. Work eight hours; get paid for eight hours…simple. Some people work on commission, again, only getting paid if you sell something. Work less, sell less, and get paid less. No matter who you are, the one thing that stands true for all of us is that we all only have 24 hours a day. Rich or poor, strong or weak, smart or ignorant, we all play on the same level time/playing field. You might elect to work 12, 14 or 16 hour day, seven days a week. This will earn you a little more money, but it will kill you and your 65 year old retirement plan probably will die! The damage to family, relationships and health will lead to a quick end to success and happiness.
The other major limits to your income are made and decided by your employer, not you! They typically will control your hours, rate of pay, vacation time, etc. Your job security is controlled by someone else!
So what are my alternatives? Isn’t this just the way it is for everyone? Get up, go to work, come home exhausted,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], go to bed… repeat tomorrow! Was that your dream? I don’t believe anyone ever dreamt that as a child. We all had visions of success, happiness and joy. Maybe it’s time to Change and Go for it!
So you might ask, “HOW?” It is easy to say all those things, but how is it done, how can I quit my job and instantly change my life? Well you didn’t get there over night and it will take a Paradigm Shift to get you on the track to financial independence.
Don’t feel bad, the majority of people live the 47 Year Rut. It is very few people who either start their lives searching for their dreams and never giving up until they attain them no matter what the cost, or somewhere in their journey they say, “Enough, I need to change what I am doing.” Remember my statement earlier?
The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So unless you decide to do something different you will never achieve what you truly deserve. If you've been looking for a way to create wealth, achieve financial independence and finally get out of the 47 Year Rut. I can guarantee you that if you put this aside to "think about it" you won't be any closer to your financial goals.
So let’s look at this shift in think and see how we might do it differently. If there is another way to Financial Independence would you like to know how? There is no magic formula, get rich quick scheme, but a different way to invest your time and effort. It isn’t anything new, just one you may not have ever been told about. It is the way all major business works. It is benefiting from the work of the entire work force behind your business. The company you work for benefits from you and all the others putting in their 8 hours a day. If there are 1000 employees, can you see how your company benefits from 8000 hours of work a day? The owner has increased his ability of productivity times 1000. He makes his money from having you duplicate his effort 1000 times over. You could never work 1000 hours a day, but he just did.
I want to introduce you to Residual Income and the principle of multiplication. Let’s look at some simple examples. If we consider a recording artist, an author, star in a movie or anyone who develops something once and it sells over and over again, they receive residual income weeks, months, and years later as the work they did previously pays dividends. So you are thinking, “I am not a recording star or author and I don’t manufacture or haven’t invented anything that is going to pay me residually for life… I wish!”
What if there is another way to develop Residual Income with as little as 4-6 years of time invested that will pay you a return the rest of your life? The 47 Year Rut can not guarantee anything, except a mediocre retirement income and a life lost working and growing old. Let’s look at building your Residual Income starting right now while you still have an income and can afford to start part time and see a bright future when you can say goodbye and climb out of the Rut, before the close in the two ends!
